So fortunate to design the annual Christmas Bash Invitations for this wonderful young lady in Georgia. She always puts together an inspired theme every year to celebrate the season with her friends. This years theme was “Boots” every kind and style from cowboy to knee high leather. The only request to her guests were for them to wear their most fabulous boots and boogie the night away.

Black Crow Media Open House

November 17, 2011

Black Crow Media, based in Daytona, Florida, owns and operates both AM and FM radio stations in 5 markets over 4 states.  The Valdosta, Georgia market, celebrated their annual Open House on November 10th.  When I was asked to design the invitation for the event, I knew it had to reflect everything that is special about everyone at Black Crow.  The lucky clients and community members who received an invitation were treated to an evening of music and great food.  All of the studios were open, so everyone could get a behind the scenes view into the life of the DJ’s, Production Assistants and Sales and Marketing Teams that make Black Crow a leader in their field.  Black Crow operates 7 stations in Valdosta: Newstalk 105.9 WVGA, Rock 108, 99.5 Kix Country, Hot 102.7, 106.9 The Eagle, 95.7 The Mix and Star 105.3, as well as their digital media outlet ValdostaToday.com

Casino Invitations

November 3, 2011

Ever since I published the Casino Invitations for the boys at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, I have received numerous requests for this invitation.  Recently, I had a request to take it out of the box and create a flat invitation for a Sweet Sixteen.  This particular invitation plays homage to The Hard Rock Casino.  I hope that you like it as much as I enjoyed taking it in a new direction.

What could be more fun, than your family and friends, gathering together to  suprise you on your 50th Birthday?  A good time had by all!  This invitation was created in black thermography on quartz metallic,  with swarovski crystals dropping from the chandelier, the invitation back and envelope liner in black venetian swirl.  The outer envelope in black, with postage of a very young and beautiful Miss Kathryn Hepburn, in black and white with a black and white damask envelope wrap.

These are the three wedding invitations that I created, that will be voted on, for the Ultimate Wedding Giveaway at Hot 102.7 in Valdosta, Georgia.

Feelin’ Lucky?

January 20, 2011

I was recently asked to design an invitation for a group of guys who were hosting a Bachelor Party at the Beau Rivage Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.  Wonder what the Bride’s doing?

Can you just imagine it?  It is the Golden Age in Hollywood when women wore gorgeous gowns and furs and men wore their tuxes or suits to dinner and dance.  The era of jazz and the speakeasy, supper clubs and big bands.  For this Grand Dame’s 80th Birthday Party her family is hosting a weekend of reminiscing and celebrating in style.  The highlight of the weekend is to be a 1930’s Dinner and Dance.  The invitations were created with a vintage style and grace to honor such a special lady.  Even the stamps were created especially for this invitation suite.

A Bosworth Christmas 2010

December 14, 2010

This has been quite a year here in the Bosworth House.  Our one and only son graduated from high school this year which prompted us to begin completion of a project that we have been working on for awhile.  We have been collecting the history of his grandparents, for him to share with his own children one day.  This is a daunting task with hours and hours of recorded conversations and transcription.  Although not quite completed, one memory stuck with us that we wanted to share as part of our Christmas cards this year.  There has always been a tradition of cookie baking in both of our families histories.  We both can recall funny stories and memories associated with that very special time spent together.  Having spent 12 years of his life away from his grandparents, we had to create those special memories for our son, Jacob.  So, this year our Christmas Cards are a special reminder of the special tradition of baking Christmas Cookies and the Sugar Cookie recipe used by one of his Grandmothers.  Enjoy!

Santa Comes To Town

And can you believe it?  Santa and his reindeer came to town

Merry Christmas To All!!

Book Club Dinner

December 3, 2010

Emma Donoghue, author

First, let me introduce you to someone quite remarkable; his name is Jack. Jack is a five-year-old little boy and Room is his world. “Room is home to Jack, but to Ma, it’s the prison where she’s been held since she was nineteen-for seven long years. Through her fierce love for her son, she has created a life for him in that eleven-by-eleven-foot space. But Jack’s curiosity is building alongside her own desperation- and she knows that Room cannot contain either indefinitely…” If you haven’t read it, you should. Emma Donoghue has created a wonderful story that will take you many places in your heart and let you peek inside at a mother’s love for a child and the innocence of a child’s mind.

Having already read the book myself, I was excited when asked to plan a dinner party for a Book Club in Atlanta whose selection for the month was Room.

The hostesses home was beautiful, and made it very easy to create an evening of comfort and warmth. The entire meal from hors d oeuvres, to the main course, to the dessert, to the wine selection, was created around a very rustic and tuscan menu.

Goat Cheese and Fig-Orange Preserves on Multigrain Breton Rounds

Bacon-Cheddar Puff Pastry Crisps

1 pkg. (2 sheets) Pepperidge Farm Puffed Pastry Sheets, Thawed – 1 cup (4oz.) shredded sharp cheddar cheese – 1 lb. of bacon (cooked and crumbled) – Ranch dressing – 2 Tbsp. chopped chives. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Unfold pastry sheets onto lightly floured surface and roll each sheet out into a 12×12 square. With a pizza cutter, cut each square in to 36 pieces. Place puffed pastry squares onto baking sheets and bake for 8 minutes. Remove and with the back of a spoon press down center of squares to create an indentation. Allow to cool for 10 minutes. Fill each square with 1/2 tsp of each cheese and bacon and cook for another 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Let cool another 10 minutes. Top each with Ranch Dressing and Chives.

Spring Green Salad with Dried Cranberries and Walnuts

Lasagna

Pear-Ginger Tart

1 pkg. (2 sheets) Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry – 4 to 5 Pears thinly sliced (a job best done on a mandolin) – 4 Tbsp Sugar – 4 Tbsp Crystalized Ginger (chopped finely) – Overlap pastry about 1″ and roll out onto a lightly floured surface, large enough to place on a large pizza stone (I used my trusty Pampered Chef stone) with about 1-2 inches to overlap. Place on stone. Neatly arrange Pear slices on pastry. Combine the sugar and ginger and sprinkle all over top of pears. Pull edges of pastry over pears and brush with an egg wash (1 egg and 1 Tbsp of water, beaten). Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes or pastry is golden brown. Slice into 12 pieces. Enjoy!

Lots, and lots of beautiful wines

Did you take note of the beautiful napkin rings? My husband, David made them for me. He went into our woods and collected a fallen branch and sectioned it into rings and drilled out the centers and then gave them a couple coats of clear seal. I am so lucky to have him!!

My love for invitations has always meant for me a love for those very events. So yes, I do on occasion provide my services for small events.

Steel’s Diamond Dash

October 25, 2010

Saturday was the 2nd Annual Steel’s Diamond Dash. This years venue was at the Women’s Center on the Valdosta State University Campus.  What an amazing site to see  approximately 300 people searching around town and on campus for clues to lead them to the grand prize of a $12,000 Lazare Diamond Ring.  When the hunt was over, all the participants gathered back at the Women’s Center for lunch and announcement of the winners.  Since the game was played using texted clues to your cell phone, it was only fitting that in silence, the winner was called on their cell phone.  The energy was electrifying when the winning couples cell phone started to ring.  I thought nothing could top that, until when presented with the engagement ring, the young man dropped to one knee and proposed to his girlfriend right there in front of about 350 people and she said yes!  Thank you to the Steel’s and Black Crow Media’s Hot 102.7 for asking me to participate this year.

Now let’s watch the proposal!  Congratulations!!
