He Said, She Said…

August 17, 2016

“We love simple things:  outdoor adventures, skateboarding, the city, finding new restaurants, people watching and Call of Duty Zombies (which actually strengthens our team work and communications skills)”

This is one project that is very personal as the groom to be is our son.  Jenny and Jacob met in College Station, TX  where Jenny was attending Texas A&M.  Upon first meeting, Jacob said he knew immediately that this beautiful girl would be his wife.  They are both amazing people with a strong love for their families and their community.  Since all of our families live outside of Dallas, this Save the Date was their introduction to their extended families of the person they intended to marry, so it was important to share a little insight into how they met and feel about one another.  The Save the Date was a tri-fold 5 1/2″ square card on Neenah White Pearl.

Their engagement photos were taken by Absolute Photography of Dallas www.absolutephoto.biz in some of their favorite locations:  Deep Ellum and the Dallas Arts District.

70 and Sensational

August 17, 2016

Recently, one of my clients in New York asked me to design an invitation for her mother-in-laws 70th Birthday Party.  During our consultation she expressed that she would like to have something with a floral border.  While designing the original invitation, my client found a picture on Pinterest of an invitation that she liked and asked if I could design something similar, so I went about hand drawing a similar border then uploading it into my design software to color.  Foiling is normally done on a printing press with plates made similar to letterpress and actually stamped under high heat and is extremely expensive, especially for a small run.  I had recently came across a DIY foiling technique that I thought that I would try for this project.  It turned out beautifully!  Time intensive, but beautiful!! It is always a pleasure to work with repeat clients to share in a small way the milestones, weddings, births, birthdays and events that are celebrated throughout their lives.

I chose to print on stock and envelopes from my Envelopments line called PC 100 Kraft.  It was a perfect match. I will also share with you the original design that I created before this final design was chosen.  The “seventy” cake topper, which was a first for me, challenging, but thrilled with how it turned out.
