…and they did on Saturday evening at the Dallas Country Club, as parents, grandparents, faculty, staff and sponsors of The da Vinci School celebrated at the 2018 Mardi Gras Masquerade Gala. Designing these glamorous invitations for this years event was so much fun. Can you just imagine opening the metallic snow envelope and having that big beautiful peacock eye starring back at you? What a great time I had this year designing the logo, invitations, programs and signage for the schools yearly gala, which uses all the donations raised, to further their mission of making a positive difference in the lives of their students and by developing a lifelong love of learning and making a positive impact on their community.
with a country heart! Wynne, Jr. is an executive of a Texas transportation company and Lacey is a corporate attorney in the energy industry. When Lacey first approached me about designing her wedding invitations, she had a very definite vision of vintage roses for their December wedding. As beautiful as the original design was, we worked together to create a more refined design to reflect this more formal, black tie event. Every attention to detail was given to this wedding suite, which included a Save The Date, Invitation, RSVP, Information Card, Rehearsal Dinner Invitations, Wedding Programs, Welcome Bags for all of the out of town guests that included a Welcome Card, Custom Designed Map with local points of interest as well as custom Hanging “Do Not Disturb” Door Tags.
After a lovely wedding ceremony, Wynne, Jr. and Lacey treated their guests to a beautiful reception at the Perot Museum. Many blessing to you both!
“We love simple things: outdoor adventures, skateboarding, the city, finding new restaurants, people watching and Call of Duty Zombies (which actually strengthens our team work and communications skills)”
This is one project that is very personal as the groom to be is our son. Jenny and Jacob met in College Station, TX where Jenny was attending Texas A&M. Upon first meeting, Jacob said he knew immediately that this beautiful girl would be his wife. They are both amazing people with a strong love for their families and their community. Since all of our families live outside of Dallas, this Save the Date was their introduction to their extended families of the person they intended to marry, so it was important to share a little insight into how they met and feel about one another. The Save the Date was a tri-fold 5 1/2″ square card on Neenah White Pearl.
Their engagement photos were taken by Absolute Photography of Dallas http://www.absolutephoto.biz in some of their favorite locations: Deep Ellum and the Dallas Arts District.
As unbearable as the Dallas Summer can be, the first peek and anticipation of Fall can be just as inspiring. As I left my apartment this morning, I felt lighthearted and excited about trying a new bistro that had opened just a couple of blocks away. The morning walk was full of sunshine and a crispness that hinted Autumn was on its way. As I turned the corner where the little bistro is situated, the shadows of a high rise blocked the sun and the temperature dropped, beckoning the call with scents of fresh pastries and coffee. The outside of this little gem was reminiscent of a Parisian café with outside tables that met the sidewalk. As I went inside I was met by the friendliest of “good mornings” and suggestions for their morning selections. I took a seat in a nestled corner by one of the windows. From the music, to the staff, to the food; everything was served up with a quiet grace. I enjoyed the most heavenly Quiche Lorraine (which is saying a lot, because I thought I made the best), nibbles of the flakiest Pain Au Chocolat and a Hazelnut Latte, complete with foamed leaf in mismatched china…ooh la la! So, if you find yourself, anytime in the near future, in Uptown Dallas, stop by the Mercat Bistro and enjoy a delightful experience.
